Successfully fighting cancer takes a comprehensive, well coordinated approach. That’s why Mercy Tiffin Hospital believes in fighting cancer through Faith, Hope and Love. We are committed to providing state-of-the-art cancer services, while easing fears and focusing on the needs of each individual person. Patients currently visiting Mercy Tiffin Hospital for cancer treatment can expect to receive compassionate care.

The Mercy Tiffin Hospital was recently awarded a three-year accreditation with commendation by the Amercian College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer.  This distinctive recognition, only earned by those programs capable of providing the very best in cancer care, recognizes the comprehensive, multidisciplinary nature of Mercy's oncology services.

The state-of-the-art Radiation Therapy Department provides radiation treatment planning (using an on-site CT simulator), 3-D conformal radiation therapy, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and clinical trial eligibility evaluation. The Medical Oncology Clinic/Chemotherapy Infusion Department features nine chemotherapy infusion stations, four exam rooms, offices for oncology specialists, a pharmacy, a unique retail cancer boutique, massage therapy space and point of care laboratory testing.

The chemotherapy infusion stations are designed to provide patients with a choice of complete privacy or the ability to visit with other patients who are also receiving treatment. Custom-tailored chemotherapy, biotherapies and side-effect management are available to patients in a comfortable setting.

Massage therapy is integrated in some cancer treatment programs as an effective, nonpharmacologic means of symptom control to include pain, fatigue, nausea, depression, stress, and anxiety.

An on-site Lymphedema clinic provides patients personalized care for certain side effects of cancer. Services offered include:
  • Manual lymph drainage
  • Compression bandaging
  • Measurements for compression garments
  • Education regarding skin care, home care techniques and exercises

Angie’s Boutique

The cancer center features Angie’s Boutique. This unique boutique offers specialized merchandise for cancer patients, including supplies and services cancer patients often require, such as bra’s and breast prosthetics, wigs, scarves and wraps. The boutique also sells Bare Mineral makeup by Bare Escentuals, as well as soothing lotions to promote healing and ease discomfort. Angie’s Boutique is open to the public.

Resource Center

The cancer center has a resource center that includes information about cancer and treatments. The resource center is open to anyone in the community who would like to learn more about cancer, especially anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer or their families, friends or caregivers. Special information about how to speak with children about cancer will also be available.
