Services - Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

When you have a premature or sick baby, it's natural to be overwhelmed. The Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) can be a very imposing place. No child or family is here because they want to be here. They are here because of premature birth or other complications that require intensive care. The equipment involved in providing state-of-the-art medical care my be frightening at first.

In addition to providing excellent medical care for your little one, the staff of the NICU at Mercy Children’s is here to provide you with support and assistance. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible. We hope to develop a good working relationship with you right from the start. The more you know, the more involved you can be and the more you can advocate for your baby. Please let us know if you have questions or concerns.
