Services - Pediatric Therapy Services

Mercy Children’s Pediatric Therapy offers Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Therapy services on an outpatient basis. Whether an injury or illness, congenital birth condition or developmental delays, Mercy Children's Pediatric Therapy team can help assist patients and families overcome barriers and gain with functional skills and independence.

Pediatric Occupational Therapists are trained to help children with sensory, motor, cognitive, and behavioral difficulties learn how to perform purposeful activities as independently as possible. Pediatric Physical Therapists are trained to help maximize a child's physical abilities and minimize physical impairments. Pediatric Speech Therapists are specially trained to help children speak more clearly, address oral motor, develop alternative means of communication, and improve language and cognitive skills.

  • Brachial Plexus Injury
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Chromosomal/Congenital Conditions
  • Cranio-facial Abnormalities (Cleft Palate/Lip)

  • Feeding and Swallowing Disorders
  • Neuromuscular disorders (Myelomeningocele)
  • Orthopedic Conditions
  • Sensory Integration Dysfunction
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Visual Impairments and Perceptual Disorders

Specialties Include: feeding evaluations and treatments, gait training, interactive metronome, sensory integration, serial and night casting, computerized gait lab analysis, speech/language delay, fine motor and gross motor skills, handwriting skills, developmental skills, cranial sacral therapy, NARHA Registered Therapist with the American Hippotherapy Association and NARHA Certified Riding Instructors.

Special Certifications Include: Sensory Integration Praxis Test (SIPT), Neurodevelopment (NDT) certified, Gross Motor Functional Measure Certified Tester, and Certified Trainer for Interactive Metronome.
