Helping you achieve better managed diabetes
Once your physician has sent us a
referral form requesting that you begin comprehensive diabetes education, we will contact you and schedule the initial appointment.
The first appointment will be approximately one hour long. You'll meet with a registered nurse to assess your educational needs and then be scheduled to meet with the dietician who will provide an indivdiualized meal plan. Goals
will be set with you regarding your lifestyle modifications.
After the initial appointment, you will be scheduled in our group classes. These are held every Wednesday at either Mercy St. Vincent, Mercy St. Charles or Mercy St. Anne hospitals. The site rotates each month. These classes consist of 4 sessions and are 2 hours in length. You will learn more about diabetes nutrition, potential complications and problem-solving.
