Biopsia con aguja del seno

La biopsia con aguja se lleva a cabo bajo anestesia local. Consiste en aspiraciones simples con la ayuda de una aguja pequeña y angosta para extraer líquido de protuberancias que aparentan ser quistes. En la biopsia con aguja fina se emplea una aguja más grande para pasarla varias veces a través de la protuberancia y así extraer líquido y tejido, los cuales se evalúan a continuación para determinar si contienen células cancerosas.
