CMD is a heart disease that affects the smallest coronary arteries of the heart. It is not always caused by artery blockage like CHD
. It is more commonly found in women than men and can be a genetic condition or linked to diabetes or hypertension. CMD is also sometimes referred to as cardiac syndrome X or nonobstructive CHD.
