Coronary Infarction

Coronary infarction is the medical term for heart attack. Heart attack occurs when oxygen-rich blood cannot reach a section of your heart muscle and that muscle begins to die. Heart attack is the leading killer of adult men and women in the U.S. It is often the result of coronary heart disease (CHD). Symptoms of heart attack include:
  • chest pain (mild to extreme)
  • discomfort in one or both arms or upper body
  • shortness of breath
  • nausea
  • dizziness
  • cold sweats
  • vomiting
