Being Realistic about Latest Lung Cancer/Chemo News
You may have read headlines in the news recently about
improved success rates for people who received chemotherapy for lung cancer.
While the headlines were true, it’s important to point out that the improved
survival rate—15 percent, in fact—was for people who had early stage
non-small cell lung cancer that had been successfully removed.
This is good news for people with this type of cancer, but
fewer than 10 percent of people with lung cancer fit into this category. It’s
always good to have new hope for lung cancer, but it’s important to know the
