Ibuprofen may Block Aspirin's Benefits
If you take aspirin every day to protect your heart, pay attention to any pain medication you also use. A new study has shown that ibuprofen can block aspirin's effectiveness.
Ibuprofen is a common painkiller used for arthritis, headaches and other aches and pains. It belongs to a class of drugs known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, or NSAIDS. Common products containing ibuprofen include Advil and Motrin.
Talk to your doctor if you take daily aspirin and also use ibuprofen as a pain-killer. You and your doctor together can come up with an alternative plan for pain management.
