Pay Attention to Fatigue, Trouble Sleeping
A study reported in the journal Circulation has found that of 515 women who had heart attacks, 95 percent had symptoms of unexplained or unusual fatigue and sleeplessness in the month before the attacks. Additionally, 43 percent of the women never experienced any chest pain.
Women need to be aware of these early symptoms, because getting treatment early can prevent a heart attack. Study researchers said they weren’t sure whether men experience these early warning signs, because men often have different heart attack symptoms than women.
Other common symptoms women in the study reported included shortness of breath, indigestion and anxiety.
