Women 70+

In your 70's and beyond, your health is likely to become more of a focus than ever before. Regular doctor visits and daily medication are possibly the norm for you now. This is a time when it's important to make adjustments in your home and in your lifestyle that will minimize your chances of falling or injuring yourself in other ways. You should also pay close attention to meeting your nutritional needs.

Many people now remain active and enjoy life as they reach the 80's and even 90's. At this stage of life, you still need to be sure to get exercise almost every day, because that can help you maintain your vitality. Seeing friends on a regular basis is important too, because it prevents you from feeling isolated, which can lead to depression.

As you age, stay connected with others, adjust your exercise to your body's needs and be sure to take medication your doctor prescribes. Have an ongoing relationship with your doctor, nurse practitioner or other healthcare provider. This will help you manage chronic conditions well.
