When to Call the Doctor
If your child displays any of these symptoms notify your pediatrician, family physician, or Mercy Eye Center professional:
- unable to track your finger moving across his/her line of vision
- eyes unable to focus
- rapid eye movement, fluttering quickly up and down or side to side
- bulging eyes
- persistent eye pain
- eye redness that doesn’t go away in a matter of a few days
- excessive draining
- very sensitive
- excessive rubbing
- excessive squinting
- pain or heightened sensitivity in normal light
